Bay Area Rapid Transit

Bay Area Rapid Transit, (BART), transports in excess of 300,000 commuters every day throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. BART's train cars have carried riders around the Bay Area since 1972.  BART continues its multi-Billion US Dollar expansion efforts. BART currently operates 5 commuter train lines with 44 stations, with an additional 4 under construction. Three of those 4 actually begin construction in 2012. Another 5 train stations are in the final phases of approved, planned, or seeking funding. www.bart.gov http://bart.gov/about/planning/expans.aspx

One of the four anticipated expansion project is the Silicon Valley plan, which would include 16 new miles of BART track and six stations. Currently BART is facing a significant budget deficit in the Billions of US Dollars, so they are seriously considering advanced Engineer technology that allows them to do more with less money. Accordingly, BART Engineers is working on a new specification for soil stabilizations technology. We are proud to be in a position to help support this world class transportation institution.

Our Principles are working with BART Engineers to provide soil stabilization design and quality control services as they continue their expansion. BART is presently in the process of revising their extensive Engineering guidelines to include Soil Stabilization techniques with our support. In addition, current expansion projects will utilize our technology and services to help them reduce costs while continuing to provide world class transportation throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
